Wagon Wheel Ridge is only about 12
miles from Ellijay in Gilmer County, Georgia.
Gilmer County is the Apple Capital of Georgia and Ellijay
is home to the
Georgia Apple Festival held two weekends in
October.
There are Apple Houses all along the highways wth fresh and
canned produce, gifts, baked goods, and other treats. Ellijay
also has numerous antique shops, art galleries, and restaurants.
Wagon Wheel Ridge is also convenient to Amicalola Falls,
Dawsonville, Dahlonega, and Blue Ridge, each with their own
attractions. Go antiquing to your hearts' content, ride the
scenic railway or try the Swan Drive-In Theater in Blue Ridge.
Visit the North Georgia Premium Outlet stores and the Georgia
Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville. Pan for gold and shop
antiques in Dahlonega.
You will find plenty of close-by
sightseeing, hiking, rafting, kayaking,
boating, and fishing, not to mention touristing and shopping.
